3.3 kV RKSTP-3.3/4000 polymer-insulated three-column contact line disconnector
The 3,3 kV RKSTP-3,3/4000 three-column polymer-insulated switch-disconnector is designed for switching on and off the energized unloaded sections of the DC contact network of electrified railroads, and when operated by motor drive - also for switching off at the highest operating voltage the currents of auxiliary machines of electric rolling stock, the currents of passenger car heating and in emergency mode - the currents of make-up of adjacent substations.
Disconnector RKSTP-3,3/4000 is manufactured in the climatic version of UHL category of placement 1 according to GOST 15150-69 and GOST 15543.1-89, while the operability of the disconnector should be provided under the following conditions:
- at an altitude above sea level of not more than 1000 m;
- at the upper operating value of ambient air temperature plus 40°С;
- at the lower operating ambient air temperature of minus 60°C;
- at absence of ice formation and maximum wind pressure of 1000 Pa (corresponds to wind speed of 40 m/s);
- at ice crust thickness up to 20 mm and wind pressure 140 Pa (corresponds to wind speed 15 m/s).
Disconnector RKSTP-3,3/4000 for resistance to external mechanical factors corresponds to group M6 GOST 17516.1-90 in terms of vibration resistance.
Disconnector RKSTP-3,3/4000 in terms of heating norms allows the following modes of operation:
- prolonged current flow of 4000 A when connected to the terminals of eight copper type M120 or eight aluminum type A185 wires according to GOST 839-80;
- long-term current flow when connecting eight copper type M120 or eight aluminum type A185 wires to their terminals according to cyclic mode:

Disconnector control, as a rule, should be carried out by a motor drive type PDM-G UHL1. The disconnector may be operated in conjunction with other types of drives with technical parameters similar to those of PDM-G.
